Indian Filter Coffee

Indian filter coffee is a coffee drink made by mixing frothed and boiled milk with the decoction obtained by brewing finely ground coffee powder in a traditional Indian filter.South India is very famous for it aromatic filter coffee. Learn how to make delicious and perfect South Indian filter coffee.

Step 1: Ingredients

1) Milk
2) Filter Coffee Powder -  2 to 3 Tsp (not the instant one)
3) Sugar as per taste
4) Water 
5) Traditional Coffee Filter

Step 2: Making the Decoction

1) In the top part of the traditional filter(perforated one), add 2 to 3 Tsp of the filter coffee powder.
2) After adding the filter coffee powder, place the pierced pressing disc on the top of it.
3) Add the boiling water on top of it, close the lid and allow it to sit undisturbed for 8 to 10 min or to slowly drip the brewed coffee into the bottom.
Note:
* For strong decoction, add extra filter coffee powder for brewing.
* The decoction can be stored in a air tight container in refrigerator for future use.


Step 3: Making the Indian Filter Coffee

1) Add 1 to 2 Tbsp of the brewed coffee to a cup or tumbler.
2) To it add hot milk, sugar and mix well and serve it in a tumbler and dabarah (used to cool the coffee)
Indian Filter Coffee is now ready to be enjoyed !!!!
